Wat is VSME Module B10?

Module B10 gaat over de sociaal-maatschappelijke basisvoorwaarden in je onderneming: eerlijke beloning, het recht op medezeggenschap via collectieve onderhandelingen, en investeringen in opleiding of training.

Deze module is onderdeel van de ‘sociale’ pijler van duurzaamheidsrapportage.

Voor wie is VSME B10 verplicht?

De module is verplicht voor alle bedrijven die rapporteren onder de VSME-standaard – ongeacht omvang of sector. De standaard stelt minimumeisen om transparantie te bevorderen over fundamentele arbeidsrechten en ontwikkelingsmogelijkheden binnen je organisatie.

Welke gegevens moet je invullen bij VSME B10?

Je rapporteert over drie hoofdonderwerpen:

1. Beloning

  • Voldoe je aan het minimumloon?

  • Zijn er loonverschillen tussen functies of groepen?

  • Voldoe je aan beloningsregels uit wet- of cao?

2. Collectieve onderhandelingen

  • Zijn jouw medewerkers gedekt door een cao of andere collectieve regeling?

  • Is er sprake van formele medezeggenschap (bijv. OR, personeelsvertegenwoordiging)?

3. Training en ontwikkeling

  • Hoeveel procent van je werknemers heeft training of opleiding gevolgd het afgelopen jaar?

  • Is er een structureel opleidingsbudget of -beleid?

Indien je hierover geen data hebt, kun je dit aangeven met een schatting of via een toelichting.

Waarom is module B10 belangrijk?

Nee, alleen of je aan de wettelijke minimumvereisten voldoet. Een bandbreedte of bevestiging van naleving is voldoende.

🤝 Wat als ik geen cao heb?

Dan kun je aangeven dat er geen cao van toepassing is. De vraag is informatief, niet veroordelend.

🎓 Hoe tel ik training of ontwikkeling?

Je kunt dit uitdrukken in het aantal werknemers dat ten minste één opleiding of training heeft gevolgd, of als percentage van het totaal.

🧾 Wat als ik geen formeel opleidingsbeleid heb?

Dan geef je dat aan. De standaard vraagt transparantie, niet perfectie.

Frequently asked questions about the VSME

  • No. The VSME standard was created voluntarily by EFRAG (the same body behind the CSRD) for SMEs. Its purpose is to help SMEs report on sustainability in a structured way without having to prepare a full CSRD report.
    Note that more and more customers, supply chain partners and financiers do ask for it.

  • The CSRD is mandatory for large companies (from ±500 FTEs, listed and other cases) and requires extensive ESG reporting.


    The VSME standard is an accessible, simplified guideline for smaller companies. It is less complex, but is consistent with the structure of CSRD.

  • Yes. A VSME report shows in a clear and recognized way what your company is doing on sustainability. Increasingly, governments, corporates and municipalities are asking for ESG information in tenders - a VSME report is then a strong answer.

    • Basic: you indicate whether you have a policy, what you are already doing, and report your scope 1 and 2 emissions, your waste, and some basic characteristics about your staff, among other things.

    • Comprehensive: you go deeper into your strategy, risks, governance and performance. This level is especially relevant if you want to embed sustainability more strategically or it is demanded in the supply chain.

  • No problem. The VSME standard is meant precisely as a starting point. You can indicate where you do not yet have a policy or goals, and still deliver a report. This way you show transparency and demonstrate that you are on the move.

  • This is not certain. The expectation is that the VSME standard (or some variation of it) will become the norm for SMEs in the next few years, especially if they work with larger organizations covered by the CSRD, as well as in government procurement and bank lending. By starting now, you will be prepared and avoid catching up later.
