Wat is VSME Module B9?

In module B9 rapporteer je over ongevallen, gezondheidsincidenten en veiligheid binnen je organisatie. Het doel is om inzicht te geven in de arbeidsomstandigheden en eventuele risico’s op het gebied van veiligheid of gezondheid.

De module geldt voor je eigen werknemers. Voor ongevallen in de keten of bij klanten bestaan andere modules.

Voor wie is VSME B9 verplicht?

Alle bedrijven moeten deze module invullen, ongeacht grootte of sector. Als je nog geen gestructureerde registratie bijhoudt, mag je een schatting geven of toelichten waarom er (nog) geen data beschikbaar is.

Welke gegevens moet je invullen bij VSME B9?

Je vult de volgende onderdelen in:

  • Aantal geregistreerde arbeidsongevallen
    (Bijv. meldingen bij de arbodienst, verzuimongevallen)

  • Aantal ernstige arbeidsongevallen
    (Bijv. ziekenhuisopname of blijvend letsel)

  • Aantal sterfgevallen op de werkvloer
    (Inclusief externe meldingen als de oorzaak werkgerelateerd is)

  • Aantal werkgerelateerde gezondheidsklachten
    (Bijv. burn-out, RSI, langdurige stress)

  • Werkgerelateerd verzuim in dagen
    (Verzuim veroorzaakt door werkomstandigheden, fysiek of mentaal)

  • Beleidsmaatregelen
    Geef aan of je beleid hebt op het gebied van veiligheid en gezondheid.

Waarom is module B9 belangrijk?

Arbeidsveiligheid is essentieel binnen sociale duurzaamheid. Het rapporteren hiervan toont dat je verantwoordelijkheid neemt voor je werknemers en hun welzijn. Ook helpt het om risico’s te identificeren en structureel te verbeteren.

Ja, tenzij je onderneming pas later is gestart. Dan kun je de data pro rata aangeven.

📉 Wat als ik geen incidenten had?

Geef dan aan: ‘0 incidenten gemeld’. Je kunt optioneel toelichten hoe je dit monitort.

🧠 Tellende mentale klachten ook mee?

Ja, werkgerelateerde mentale klachten (zoals burn-out of overspanning) vallen onder ‘gezondheidsklachten’.

🔒 Wat als dit gevoelige informatie is?

Je mag aangeven dat het vertrouwelijke data betreft en per vraag verklaren waarom je geen aantallen invult.

Frequently asked questions about the VSME

  • No. The VSME standard was created voluntarily by EFRAG (the same body behind the CSRD) for SMEs. Its purpose is to help SMEs report on sustainability in a structured way without having to prepare a full CSRD report.
    Note that more and more customers, supply chain partners and financiers do ask for it.

  • The CSRD is mandatory for large companies (from ±500 FTEs, listed and other cases) and requires extensive ESG reporting.


    The VSME standard is an accessible, simplified guideline for smaller companies. It is less complex, but is consistent with the structure of CSRD.

  • Yes. A VSME report shows in a clear and recognized way what your company is doing on sustainability. Increasingly, governments, corporates and municipalities are asking for ESG information in tenders - a VSME report is then a strong answer.

    • Basic: you indicate whether you have a policy, what you are already doing, and report your scope 1 and 2 emissions, your waste, and some basic characteristics about your staff, among other things.

    • Comprehensive: you go deeper into your strategy, risks, governance and performance. This level is especially relevant if you want to embed sustainability more strategically or it is demanded in the supply chain.

    Greenreporting supports both levels - depending on the package you choose.

  • No problem. The VSME standard is meant precisely as a starting point. You can indicate where you do not yet have a policy or goals, and still deliver a report. This way you show transparency and demonstrate that you are on the move.

  • This is not certain. The expectation is that the VSME standard (or some variation of it) will become the norm for SMEs in the next few years, especially if they work with larger organizations covered by the CSRD, as well as in government procurement and bank lending. By starting now, you will be prepared and avoid catching up later.
